The Kiambu County Aquatics Association (KCAA) held its Annual General Meeting and Awards Gala on 9th August 2025 at Zetech University, Mang’u Campus, bringing together swimmers, parents, coaches, stakeholders, and sponsors for a day of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment to the growth of aquatics in the county.
The event served as both a platform for strategic discussions and a celebration of the outstanding performances that defined the 2024–2025 season.
Season Review: Triumphs and Challenges
The 2024–2025 season was marked by intense competition, remarkable individual achievements, and a growing sense of unity within the swimming community. Clubs battled fiercely across galas, pushing each other to higher standards.
Coach’s Perspective
“The season has been good, though tough,” said the Head Coach of Orca Swim Club. “Big teams have been coming in strong, but we’ve stayed true to our training. We’ve been champions in every gala, taking first place consistently. I love seeing everyone happy and united in the club. I urge everyone to come to Kiambu, participate, and feel the heat—we do this together. I welcome more challenges next season.”
Parental Pride and Progress
Christopher Maina Muriithi from Aqua Shark Swim Club expressed joy over the dual benefits of competitive swimming:
“This has been a very good season for us. My daughters have been swimming in Kiambu Aquatics, and we’ve seen tremendous improvement—not just in sports, but also academically. We look forward to another enticing and wonderful 2025–2026 season.”
Athletes’ Voices
For the swimmers themselves, the season brought both hard work and sweet rewards.
Stefanie Wambui Magira from Orca Swimming Club shared her excitement:
“The previous season was tough, but I’m happy for the awards I got. I trained hard for every gala I attended, and the trophies and certificates for being the Best Starting Girl mean a lot to me. Next season, I’ll work even harder to achieve the same.”
Barrak Lajah from Orca Swim Club echoed the determination:
“I’m happy with the medals I’ve won over the last two seasons, and I’m looking forward to winning even more next season.”
Recognizing Key Support
The Sponsor of the Season 2024–2025 award was proudly presented to Genesis Sports Limited, whose unwavering support continues to boost the growth and visibility of aquatic sports in the region.
Looking Ahead
With the 2025–2026 season kicking off this August, the KCAA community is already buzzing with anticipation. The shared vision is clear—to nurture future champions while building a strong, united swimming culture.
