Kenya’s National Master Swimming Team is making waves as they intensify preparations at Crawford International School ahead of the South Africa National Master Swimming Championships, scheduled from 11th to 14th March.
The 17-member squad is set to depart Kenya on Tuesday for George, the host city for this prestigious event. During training, the swimmers have praised the team’s dedication and highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between the Kenya Swimming Federation and its partners to ensure athletes receive the support they need to excel on the international stage.
Participation in global masters events is not just about competition—it plays a crucial role in raising the profile of Kenyan aquatics and inspiring more swimmers to take part in masters competitions across the country.
One of the team members expressed heartfelt appreciation for the support received from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, which has sponsored their participation. “This is not my first sponsorship. The Authority supported me in October during the Zimbabwe Masters, and now I’m heading to George. I’ve been practicing in Diani, and I’m thrilled to be part of this team,” they shared.
The athlete also emphasized the role of teamwork behind the scenes, assisting with flight bookings, accommodation, and other administrative work, ensuring the team is fully prepared for the championships. The team invites supporters to flag them off as they aim to return to Kenya with more medals and achievements.
With dedication, preparation, and strong support, Kenya’s master swimmers are ready to make a splash on the international stage once again!
