Dear Kiambu Aquatics Stakeholders,

On behalf of Kiambu Aquatics, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who represented our county at the recent Kenya Aquatics National Swimming Championship, held from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th at the Bandari Maritime Academy in Mombasa. The dedication and commitment demonstrated by our athletes, coaches, parents, officials, and supporters—both within Kiambu and across the country—have been the cornerstone of our steady rise in national swimming excellence.

Celebrating Our Clubs and Athletes

We proudly recognize the contributions of our member clubs:

  • Aqua Wave Swim Club
  • BE A Pro Swim Club
  • Crawford International School
  • Dashing Dolphins
  • Genesis Sports Limited
  • Nawiri Swimming Club
  • Orca Swim Club
  • Peponi School
  • Poseidon Swimming Club
  • Snook Swimming Club
  • Supermarlins Swim Club

Special congratulations go to the swimmers who secured podium finishes and achieved outstanding personal bests. For years, Kiambu often stood in the shadows of dominant clubs from Nairobi and Mombasa, seldom celebrating medalists of our own. This year’s results mark a decisive shift, highlighting the remarkable progress our county has made.

We are determined to build on this momentum until Kiambu swimmers are a consistent presence on international stages.

Expanding Horizons with Open-Water Swimming

We also celebrate those who embraced open-water swimming, competing in the 1500m, 3km, and 5km events during the Kenya Aquatics Open Water Swimming Time Trials in the Indian Ocean. Their dedication is expanding the horizons of aquatic sport within our region and inspiring others to push their limits.

Looking Ahead: Mid-Season Focus

As we approach the mid-season phase, we urge all stakeholders to maintain disciplined training and sustained focus. Our Kiambu Aquatics League, proudly sponsored by Genesis Sports Limited, continues to thrive. We encourage additional clubs and schools to join, as the league provides an invaluable benchmark for development and competitive performance.

Together, we continue to elevate swimming in Kiambu County, ensuring our athletes have the support, training, and competitive opportunities to excel at every level.

Regards,
Dr. Douglas Okatso
