Kiambu Aquatics is set to host the Level 1 Swimming Championship on 26th and 27th September at Urafiki Carovana School, Kahawa Sukari. The two-day swimming competition will bring together young swimmers across different age categories, providing an opportunity for participants to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and showcase their talent.
Organized by Kiambu County Aquatics Association (KCAA), the championship is designed to promote swimming development and encourage more young people to participate in competitive aquatics.
A Championship for Young Swimmers
The Kiambu Aquatics Level 1 Swimming Championship will feature swimmers in several age categories, creating opportunities for participants at different stages of their swimming journey.
The categories include:
- 7 & Under
- 8–9 years
- 10–11 years
- 12–13 years
- 14–15 years
- 16–17 years
- 18 years & above
The competition will provide swimmers with an opportunity to test their abilities in a competitive environment while building confidence, discipline and valuable race experience.
Promoting Swimming Development in Kiambu
Swimming competitions play an important role in identifying and developing young aquatic talent. Events such as the Kiambu Aquatics Level 1 Swimming Championship give swimmers the opportunity to compete, learn from other athletes and gain experience that can support their continued development.
Beyond competition, swimming encourages physical fitness, discipline, perseverance and confidence. Creating more opportunities for young swimmers to participate in organized competitions can also contribute to the growth of swimming and aquatic sports in the region.
Entry and Spectator Charges
Participants and spectators can register for the championship at the following rates:
- Individual Entry: KSh 500
- Relay: KSh 1,000
- Spectator: KSh 1,000
