The Kiambu County Aquatics Level 2 swimming competition recently concluded, marking a significant milestone in the county’s swimming calendar. The event, held over the weekend, March 1st – 2nd, 2025, attracted over 200 swimmers from across the county, representing 15 different clubs.

Following the successful completion of Level 1 earlier in the season, this Level 2 Swimming Championship served as a progression stage for the swimmers, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills and improvements. 

 

Francis Mwangi, the Treasurer of Kiambu County Aquatics, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and the swimmers’ performances. He noted that most of the athletes improved their times significantly, which was a testament to their dedication and rigorous training.

“The progress shown by the swimmers has been remarkable. We are happy with their performances, the favorable weather, and the continuous support from the coaches and parents,” he said.

The competition also highlighted the strong community spirit in Kiambu’s swimming scene, with stakeholders, parents, and coaches coming together to support the young athletes.

Looking ahead, the swimming fraternity is now gearing up for the upcoming sprints and relays event, scheduled to take place at the same venue, Regis Runda Academy, on the 22nd and 23rd of this month, March 2025. This event serves as a Qualifying Gala for Kenya Aquatics/National event which will be held on May 3-4 at Aga Khan Academy Kisumu Organizers have extended a warm welcome to all coaches, parents, and stakeholders to participate and support the swimmers in their next challenge.

A special appreciation was extended to the management of the hosting school and the members of Kiambu County Aquatics Association, whose efforts made the event a success. Their continued dedication to organizing such events has played a crucial role in the growth and development of competitive swimming in the region.

With this momentum, the future looks promising for Kiambu County’s swimming community, and anticipation is high for the next stage of the competition.
